I wonder if anyone has access to the 1871 Census if they could very kindly
do a look up for me please?
I am looking for my Gt Grandmother Ada RAWLINSON/ROWLINSON who is proving to
be a brick wall for me.
My Gt Grandparents never married (Benjamin Alexander) and they lived in
Liverpool. I have obtained all their childrens Birth Certificates and she
originally used Ada Rawlinson then Ada Alexander on the Birth Certificates and in
1901she was back to using Rawlinson on the 1901 Census (and described as
Mistress) but was Alexander (wife) on the 1891 Census.
The 1891 Census was taken on 5/4/1891 if I am not mistaken and Benjamin and
Ada are there with their son Benjamin aged 1 day old. However, I now have
this childs Birth Certificate 4/4/1891 and he is down as William RAWLINSON,
Mother Ada Rawlinson and no Fathers details...second child the same although
they must have been together.
Cannot find Ada on the 1881 census but what is interesting there is a Ada
ROWLINSON, servant, born 1864 RHYL, in the Toxteth area, where they ended up
living! (Her occupation on first 2 Birth Certs is Domestic Servant).
She is not listed on family
search.org or Free BMD!
I was wondering if someone could kindly try and find Ada for me on the 1871
Census or her family in or around Rhyl. Although she states on 1891/1901
Census she was from Liverpool and age would mean she was born 1865 I dont feel I
can dismiss this Ada ROWLINSON as this is a similarity.
Thank you for reading this and I hope someone can help.
Many thanks
Sandra
