Hello Mart
I have never heard of this during the period 1835 -1851, most interchanges
between UK and Ireland went un - recorded. The only time a court would be
involved as such would be if the local parishes refused to support a poor
family who had been born elsewhere and then they would ship them back over
to their parish of origin to be supported by poor rates there. This was very
common in for example Liverpool during the Famine period.
I see you're researching the surname Gough, is this Irish Gough?
My Irish 3x great Grandmother was a Gough and Irish - they moved to
Manchester - she married a Flynn.
Hope this helps you.

notification to the county in Ireland that their native is in Wales for
emigration purposes. I had heard that there was a process of local courts
interviewing recent emigres to the local area finding out about them,
processing an emigration record and notifying the home county that that
person was there.
Is this true???
