Hi listers and fellow PARRY researchers,
I have spent the past few days at my local Mormon Centre pouring over
two very hard to read films for Holywell and Whitford. The following is
what I have been able to uncover on my PARRY line so far:
Holywell Parish Records Diocese of St. Asaph
FHL Film 0104289 records 1818-1848 (not complete for all years)
Baptism 1825 Holywell Parish Church
John son of Edward and Ellen PARRY, christened May 27, 1825
abode Brynford, father's occ. miner John Jones Vicar.
(this Edward PARRY is my 3X-great grandfather)
Baptism 1847 Holywell Parish Church no. 638 page 80
Sarah daughter of John and Jemima PARRY
abode Bagillt Street father - smelter E.L. Davies Curate
( Sarah appears to be the first child of John PARRY and Jemima JONES)
I went through the whole film and did not find any more children of
Edward and Ellen PARRY nor their marriage. I suppose that they may have
moved out of the area. The villages covered by this film include
Holywell, Bagillt, Greenfield, and Brynford.
Parish Church Whitford FHL FILM 0104826
Baptisms 1825
July 31, 1825 Jemima daughter of Edward and Jane Jones
no. 985 abode - Creccas father - farmer vicar
Edward Roberts.
Since my time was up when I found Jemima, I had to down tools. I will
be back at the centre tomorrow to see what other connections I might
uncover.
I did start to copy all of the PARRY BMD which I found, but that was
getting too time consuming, so I have just concentrated on the PARRYs,
which is a big enough task in itself.
Does anyone happen to have Whitford and Holywell Parish records earlier
and later than what I have, ie before 1818 and after 1848? I would love
to find the marriage registration of Edward and Ellen PARRY, which I
think may have occurred in Whitford. That way, I may be able to get
further back to my 4X-great grandparents on this side of the line.
Kindest regards to everyone,
