I would be interested in any information on Cilcain also, as I have recently
found out that my gggrandfather was born there.

Subject: [FLN] New member posting interests
Dear All,
I have just joined this list and would like to post my interests.
My main interest is a Thomas Jones[ my great great grandfather] who was
born
in Cilcain in 1846 and later worked in that area as a Lead miner.
He married an Elizabeth Williams in July 1871 at Rhdyymwyn, she was a
servant
of the Vicar James Jones at Rhydymwyn vicarage .
Thomas lived in Gwernafield with his family until around 1885 when they
moved
in search of work initially to Yorkshire, but didnt like it there so
made
his
way back towards Wales. He met some other Welsh people in Tyldesley
Lancashire and stayed finding work in the coal mines.
I would appreciate any help particularly with the early census returns of
1851 and 1861 for Cilcain, and any information on the Lead mines around
Cilcain.
