Sorry - but Evans it is.
To be more specific, I am trying to narrow down the family that had a son WILLIAM EVANS
abt 1858 in North Wales. It could have been Holywell. His parents were William Evans and
Ellen Jones (married in 1854). The earliest I have this family is in the 1871 Census
58 Egerton Street, Birkenead (RG10/3744/158/199)
William Evans Head age 38 Hawker b Chester
Ellen " wife 36 b Chester
Mary dau 15 b Chester
William son 13 b North Wales
Henry son 12 b Chester
John son 11 b Macclesfield
Rachel dau 7 b Denbigh, Wales
My husband is descended from Henry born Chester and he is also a sticking point as I
cannot find his birth cert!
In the 1881 census, a possible candidate for William was living in Birkenhead with ANN
JONES, 80 who just could have been Ellen's mother.
Only 1 other clue and that was before William and Ellen married they were both living in
Summerscat, Liverpool.
regards
Juliet
