Hello Courtney
Elizabeth was Elizabeth Stealey d/o Richard & Anne Stealey (nee Thomas). She
was born at Pentre Halkyn, Flintshire and baptised on 12 Dec 1813 at
Holywell. I can send more info on her family but need to send it as an
attachment. The Stealey Family was one of the families mentioned by Bryn
Ellis in his book about Halkyn Mountain. All are descended from John Stayley
who migrated to Flintshire.

Subject: [FLN] Elizabeth ? born Halkyn Mountain 1814 to 1817 married William
ROBERTS
Hi Listers,
This is a longshot as we do not have a surname but we are searching for
information
on the above lady who appears in my wife's line. Elizabeth
married a William ROBERTS whose birthplace was Caernarvon according to
details in the 1871 census when the family is living at 21 Louisa Street,
Everton (parish of St Georges) RG10/3817, Folio 93 page 30). The three
children living at home were all born in Liverpool.
At the time of the 1881 census the family has moved to 10 Rathbone St,
Newton in
Makefield, and here Elizabeth's birthplace is given as Holkyn
Mountain, Flint and living with them is Eleanor STEALEY, niece aged 15 who
was born at Pentre Halkyn , Flint.
Our interest in the family is through Jane ROBERTS born to William and
Elizabeth in
1855 who goes on to marry a James Anthony WHITE in Wharfedale,
Yorks in 1876.
We think we have the right family as:
- on James and Elizabeth's marriage certificate her father William is
described
as a joiner and in the 1871 census William is described as a
wheelwright and in 1881 as a joiner and on the marriage certificate Jane's
father is William ROBERTS a joiner.
- in the census of 1871 Jane is a nursemaid and our Jane WHITE used
to
attend families for a month when babies were born,
- Jane's parents were always said to have come from north Wales.
If any Lister has an interest in this family or could provide any further
information about Elizabeth we most be most grateful to hear from you,
Best regards,
Courtnay
