Dear List,
Greetings to you all from Western Australia!
I have been searching for a long time trying to crack a "brick-wall" which is
messing up my tree.
My oldest living relative is my Aunt Connie who is now 86 years old!
She is the second child of Edward Thomas ROWLETT and Florence Elizabeth JONES. My Aunt was
born in September 1921. Her older brother, Eric ROWLETT was born in 1920.
My problem is that there is no evidence through the normal channels of a wedding between
the parents. I have had four researchers searching the archives of weddings from 1910 -
1930, trying to see if a marriage between Edward and Elizabeth is registered anywhere. NO
LUCK AT ALL!
The first chid Eric is registered in Hawarden in 1920, the next two in Liverpool.
Edward and Florence, plus various other members of the family are all buried in the
cemetery at St Matthews Church, Buckley.
Edward was married originally in 1903 to a Lillian Roy in Liverpool. What became of this
marriage nobody can tell. Again, I cannot find anywhere a death notice for Lillian which
would legally allow Edward Thomas to re-marry.
Can anybody who has access to St Matthews Church or any others nearby please have a look
for a marriage that may have taken place around the period 1915 - 1925.
Any help will be gratefully received.
Best Wishes,
Phil Robertson in Western Australia
