hi,
I wonder if there is SOMEONE on the list with knowledge, which might help me
solve my problem,/ all ideas welcome,,
I have a JOHN WOOLFE in howarden flintshire, who marries in 1694,, now I
have had someone extract all my WOOLFE/WOLF/WOLFE, bmd,s from the PR,s for
the whole area.
JOHN was the first sighting we have,,, I have no idea of his birthplace, or
parentage,,the families stay in wales until the late 1700,s when they go
over the border to backford which is on the wirral.
I am desperate for ideas as to where my JOHN would have come from.
the family always thought that the WOOLFEs were from ireland.
does anyone know of any likely mass immigration from ireland to wales,
around the 1690/94 period, which I know coincides with the "battle of the
boyne".
the surname, being used in a variety of spellings, did after a while settle
to be spelt WOLFE.
any help. or ideas will be gladly accepted PLEASE.
