I'm searching for information regarding Joseph Rogers, born
approximately
1818 in Wales (possibly Flintshire, Ysceifiog). He was married to Elizabeth, and
had a son named William (born approximately 1841). I would like to know what
area(s) he lived in to continue my research. He is listed on the 1880 U.S.
Census in Braidwood, Illinois. Apparently he lived next to his son, William and
family. One of William's sons (Edward) was my great grandfather (born
approximately 1875). My ultimate goal is to follow Joseph's ancestors back as
far as I can trace. One day I hope to again return to the UK & Wales to follow
up on research personally. Thanks in advance for any assistance you are able to
provide.

Hi Robert
The only Joseph and Elizabeth Rogers with a son William in the 1851
Wales census were living in Llannelly.
Joseph was aged 33 born in Cornwall, and Elizabeth aged 34 and William
aged 8 both born in Somerset.
This may not be them, but it's all I could find.
Regards
David
