Looking to identify early history of Jones of Llwynon in Denbighshire.
A reference for was made in Burkes as follows:
"a junior branch of the honourable stem of Jones, of Leynon, in the same
county and vicinity, still flourishing, after a succession of twenty
generations, at that seat."
This being the supposed direct male ancestry for the infamous Judge
George Jeffreys, Lord of Wem. and refering to pre-15th century
genealogy. The area is Acton, near Wrexham in Denbigh. As Burkes also
connects this with Iowerth Vychan ap Iorwerth Vychan of Llwynon, co
Denbigh (12century) - descendant of the early Earls of Hereford (11th
century) - I accept the lines to be not a little problematic.
Notwhistanding the rather large number of missing years (centuries) -
would like to know of any references that would help gain knowledge of
this historical area and any early (and local) Jones genealogical data.
