Sorry, I have no idea where your Thomas was born or how to help you, as I
have the exact same problem with my Whittaker family. I am collecting any
straws that I can in my own search. You mention that "Brother Daniel" is
living in the household of a William Whitacker. Would you be so kind and
tell me what was stated about the household head? I would be most grateful.

Hi Listers
Info required for a friend.
I am trying to find the birthplace of Thomas MCINROY
Thomas McInroy was the son of Daniel McInroy (occupation Gardener) - this
information is from his marriage certificate 5th September 1894.
In the 1881 Census (ref 3551-62-6-1341850) Thomas is recorded in Combermer
Gar, Dodcott, Cum Wilkesley - County Cheshire
Father Daniel Widow 46 Head Gardener born Scotland
Thomas 15 son helper in garden born Denbighshire
Susan A 11 dau scholar born Burleydam Cheshire
John 6 son scholar born Burleydam Cheshire
Walter 6 son scholar born Burleydam Cheshire
Brother Daniel McInroy 20 is employed as Undergardener in Crewe Nantwich and
born St Marys Cheshire - head of the household is William Whitacker.
Thomas death certificate : died 29th September 1897 aged 33 years 10 months
(at Fort St George Madras India)."
So Thomas McInroy was born November 1863 in Denbighshire - but I am unable
to say where except that I would think it was close to the border as his
older brother was born in St Marys Cheshire and his younger sister at
Burleydam Cheshire. Sometimes the McInroy is recorded as McImoy.
I hope this information will assist and that someone is able to find his
birth town for me. I have not been able to find his birth registration.
Thomas McInroy is my husbands great grandfather on his mothers, mothers
side.
Tony (sunny, at last, Adelaide S Aus)
