Hallo Doreen
What gems you and John are to send me all that Census information!
I have been trying to find my fathers relatives for about 3 years. By a
long and tortuous route (and thanks to the 1901 Census index) I believe that
I have found my father's father .........(1901 Index: Hugh OWEN, 26, b.
Cerig Y Drudin, Joiner, living in Everton, Liverpool), and have sent for his
birth certificate to see if it is the right one. All the info I have had to
on go prior to this is my grandparents marriage certificate (+ a bit of
family 'history'), - I did not even have Hugh's place of birth:
Marriage: 15 August 1902, Trinity Chapel, Fitzclarence Street, Everton,
Liverpool
Hugh OWEN (28) living 48 Premier Street, Everton, Father - Thomas OWEN,
farmer (deceased)
Elizabeth Ellen JONES (21) living ?Cefuhirfynydd, Glasfryn, Corwen, Father -
John JONES, farmer(deceased)
WITNESSES: Thomas OWEN, ?Jennie JONES
On a holiday as a small child I vaguely remember visiting 'relations' in and
around Corwen and the Conwy area, including farms. Family folklore says that
Hugh and Elizabeth married against family wishes (which side was upset I
don't know), and when Hugh was killed in a motorcycle accident in the early
1900s Elizabeth was left with two small boys to raise - another Thomas and
Hugh (my father).
I am just hoping against hope that at last I have found grandfather Hugh's
family ............ UK is full of OWEN, OWENS and JONES's so I'm not really
convinced that I have yet!
I would love to hear how your John's family connect with the Tai Ucha
family, and I will really enjoy going through this data!
Many, many thanks to you both.
Lesly

Hi Lesly
Here is the 1871 record that John found. (Thomas - surname with the S
and all the rest of the family without). We have just ordered the
1901 on fiche which we should receive in a few weeks. If these are
the right OWENS, let me know and I will try to explain how they
connect with John's family.
