Greetings!
In a biography of David EDWARDS (1816-1876) it states:
By 5 May 1816 they are in Denbighshire "one mile from
Llangedwin(Llangedwyn) and five miles from Llanfyllin, Montgomeryshire" in
a "plain, neat cottage of four rooms, which, with 4 acres of land, was
known by the name of Bronrathro".
How does one go about locating the exact location of the above property? We
have searched every possible source for "Bronrathro" and have reached a
point where we believe it was misspelled in the biography. The estate
belonged to an "English Gentleman" which really does not help us at all. We
know it was about 1 1/2 half miles from "Penygroes", which we have located,
which was an estate belonging to Davids Grandfather, a Davies, of whom we
don't know his first name yet.
Are there any good sources for finding pre-1821 (when the Edwards came to
America) estates?
Thanks!
Robin
