Does some kind soul have the power to check these two out for me, I may be
nearing some milestones here now i'm starting to get some concrete facts
in.
One of the ways of ensuring accuracy in a large transcription programme is by
"double typing", i.e. getting all the information entered into a database
twice but by different transcribers. When this is done the database is
checked to look for entries that only appear once, because they are likely to
contain some sort of error.
FreeBMD is slowly going through this process, those entries that have been
double typed and agree with each other appear in bold on the site, but those
which don't agree appear as two individual entries.
The entry for Fanny Mary has been entered twice once with JONES in capitals
and once with Jones in small letters which, to a computer, makes two
different transcriptions and not the same transcription double typed, however
I would be 99% certain that there was only One Fanny Mary Jones registered in
Ruthin on page 296 of vol 11b.
The only way that the certificate that the entry refers to can be checked is
by buying a copy for £7.
all the best
