Message Board Post:
I have recently been contacted by an old school friend and as we have been chatting about
our primary school days in the sixties we have become curious about what may have happened
to a girl in our class.I remember her disappearing after she attacked a fellow pupil, she
must have been about 7 but had to be dragged off after scratching and gouging his face.
She lived in a particularly bad area, the name of the street scared most people, so she
may have had a fairly tough life. She came back during our last year and one of my friends
was asked to look after her, but she was a difficult character still who wasn't easy
to look after.
We are wondering what may have happened to her. Would she have been expelled for this, our
school was just an ordinary primary school in a working class area, in the middle of a
large council estate. Would she have been taken into care? Does anyone have any idea of
what would happen to a child like her in the early sixties?
