Hi All,
I live in the United States and am going to visit Llanrwst this July to see
where my grandmother grew up, but am having difficulties finding directions
to the mill that her father, John Jones, owned so I hoped someone might know
of it and give me directions. It was called Felin Ucha and the 1881 census
listed it as being on Denbigh Street, but the 1901 census listed its address
as Upper Mill House. I tried mapquest to see if I could find directions,
but was not successful.
I notice they are also living in Felin Uchaf in the 1891 census:
Jones, John 55 Llanrwst, Denbighshire Head Farmer
Jones, Jane 51 Bangor, Caernarvonshire Wife
Jones, John 29 Llanrwst, Denbighshire Son Farm Servant
Jones, William 27 Llanrwst, Denbighshire Son Farme Servant
Jones, Jennie 17 Llanrwst, Denbighshire Daughter Pupil Teacher
Jones, Samuel 14 Llanrwst, Denbighshire Son Scholar
Jones, Elizabeth 10 Llanrwst, Denbighshire Daughter Scholar
Jones, Robert 5 Llanrwst, Denbighshire Son Scholar
Did you know that Felin Uchaf would translate into English as Upper Mill? It could be the
same place.

Ian
