Echoes from Crescent Place: By Brian Zelley
If one was to travel back in time to Wrexham Regis. one may catch the
likes of widow Mary WILLIAMs talking in slow whispers to the school
mistress Annie LEWIS, of Manley Road, about the "echoes from Crescent
Place"
In the early morning hours one may hear the echoes of the voices of the
plasterers Jessie PARKER, Patrick BRAN and George THOMAs as they walk
to the job site.
As time marches on, Jessie PARKERS' daughter Jane PARKER would marry
Edward TILSTON (son of Joseph TILSTON & Annie DYKES) around 1902 in the
Wrexham region and reside in the Bradley, Gresford, Gyersyllt area.
If we were to return to Crescent Place on any given day in the 1880's,
Charles VAUGHAN, the contractor could be seen arranging work projects.
Some of the building workers might be neighbors of Crescent Place such
as Patrick (the bricklayer) MORAN and Joseph (the carpenter) WEIGH.
And the likes Richard and Ann COLLEY or Edward & Ellen PARRY might be
seen visiting George LEWIS, the green grocer or Ellis EDWARD, the
fishmonger.
