I'm not sure when Tanrallt (Tan yr Allt) Terrace was built and what would
have been nearby in 1871, but the streets nearby now are eg Tan y Clogwyn,
Richmond Terrace, Llanddwyn Terrace, High Street (say numbers from 60-100
but I doubt they were numbered in that fashion then - known colloqually as Y
Fflags). I don't know the enumerator's route but he could have cut across
from Fuches Wen, which would have existed then (a smallholding). I think the
enumerator may have used the term Fourcrosses and moving southwards to
describe the area (or at least it would describe the area next door towards
the centre of the town). However, your problem is that people in Ffestiniog
moved very frequently even within the parish and that this part of the town
was the last to develop, from about the 1860's onwards, whereas other parts
were established before then, so finding this particular address may not
help.

Hello Charles,
When you go to the census listings for festiniog, have you first read the
enumerators description for the pages. That is how I have found which page
to go to when researching 'common' names like Roberts and Williams. Tan
yr
Allt will be listed on his 'journey'. I shall have a look
for you as
well.
Cheers
