Hi,
Ancestry does not have the 51 census for Ruabon. I wrote to Ancestry concering this in
November last year, but they don't appear to know where Ruabon is, and don't want
to know. All I received was a string of ignorant responses, culminating in their standard
response "Thank you for your email".
Shocking really when people pay good money to access a census which was advertised as
"complete".
And unfortunately, the 1841 census for Ruabon is one of those "missing"
I would suggest finding his marriage and ordering the marriage cert. That will give his
fathers name, and using this you can write to the local Registry office with the details.
They should then hopefully be able to locate the correct birth cert.
You are fortunate inasmuch that he was born after compulsory registration had started, so
his birth will be registered.
Good luck
Dewi

Betreff: [DEN] Edward Williams of Ruabon
I am trying to find the parents of Edward Williams. I know that he was born between
April 1840- April 1841 in Ruabon- the 1871-1901 census's all agree on this perfectly.
I've looked on
ancestry.com, but for the 1851, I can't find anyone living in
Ruabon, which seems odd- was Ruabon called something else in the 1851 census, or am I
missing something?
I was hoping someone could find him in the 1841 or 1851 census. Williams is a common
name, but maybe Ruabon specific enough for there to be only one or twoâŠ
