I am completely stuck !!!!
I Have had no luck at all trying to trace my gg grandfather FRANCIS
EVANS before the 1851 census, despite my mum spending many hours at the
records office covering Whitford area. I am wondering whether although
he is said to have been born in Whitford his parents may have lived and
therefore married / had him baptised in Denbighshire?
What I'm hoping someone can help me find is:
Francis Evans' birth / baptism
Francis Evans in 1841 census (maybe Fron Haul Llangwyfan - see 1851 -
1891 census below)
Francis Evans in 1861 census - maybe at "Tai Bowen" ?? (Foulkes family
should be there too I think ?)
Francis' parents marriage / mothers maiden name.
This is what I have so far:
Francis born between 1838 - 1841 Whitford (ages given vary on
censuses/marriage certificates) - I cannot find birth / baptism. Place
of birth on census regularly given as Whitford
Father was Edward (farmer) - from Francis marriage certificate
1863 marriage - to Margaret Foulkes at Pontblyddyn church in 1863 -
address given as Tai Bowen, Leeswood
1871 - 1881 census - Francis Evans at Rose Lane Mold - with Margaret
and children
1884 second marriage - to Susannah Williams - originally Susannah
Jones. Address given as : Fron Haul Llangwyfan (see below)
1891 census - Pen y Bont, nannerch - with Susannah
1901 census - Waendomarch - with Susannah
1910 - buried 28.3.1910 from Northgate
Given Francis was born Whitford, his father was Edward and in 1884
Francis gives his address as Fron Haul Llangwyfan (following the death
of his first wife). This looks likely as Francis' parents

This is my toughest "brick wall" so far - really hoping someone can
knock a few dents in it !
Many thanks
