Bill
You're not boring me at all - I find it all very interesting
I have a particular interest in the Irish as I have Irish roots on both
parents' sides
I know what a pain it is to find them!!!
I've got to go and help at Llangollen museum today and will get back to you
later
Cheers
Gill

Gill, Thanks again for various pieces. I found your 1841 list of
occupations of the Irish community particularly intriguing.
At the risk of being boring about my own research I have pinned down "my"
Wrexham Thomas Driscoll through the marriage cert of another of his
daughters by which time he was describing himself as an Inn-keeper (1849)
as
opposed to a shoemaker in 1845. I have made enquiries previously
about
the
"P" against Thomas's name in the 1841 census. Someone
suggested
"Pensioner" - any thoughts on this?
I've also had the name of Thomas's father from the death cert of Thomas's
presumed mother, (July 1841 aged 86) viz Mary Driscoll living with Thomas
and his wife Sarah at the 1841 census.
