Just got back from a weeks break in Dorset. Lots of snow here when I got back.
The marriage to Anne Davies is the correct one. Anne's father was called John. Anne
was born in Ruthin and I may have found her in the 1861 census working as a servant on
Parsonage farm, Gwersyllt. I looked at the 1851 census and found a family in Ruthin.
John Davies, born about 1814 in Llanfwrog, a farmer but was also a Publican at the Castle
arms, Ruthin.
Mary Davies, born about 1818 in Efenechtyd.
Anne had 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
This research has thrown up some coincidences before and I just found 2 more. In 1871
John and Ann Simons were living in Vron Row, Brymbo where many years later, my father
lived. The Castle Arms in Ruthin was one of my calls when I worked for a brewery over 30
years ago.
