Hi Lynne,
You're looking at an awkward year here! The Ruabon parish registers are available in
print up to 1853 (the next one is due out soon!) and the Rhosllannerchrugog registers
begin in 1854.
There is a William Williams baptised in Rhos parish church in 1854 but his parents were
Edward (lab) & Ellen of Onnen Fechan.
I can see a baptism in the Ruabon parish registers in 1851 for a Harriet Williams,
daughter of William (miner) & Elizabeth of Rhos. Is this the family you are looking
for?
Neither the Ruabon nor the Rhos baptism registers give maiden names, so these would be of
no benefit to you.
Of course, the majority of the population of Rhos were non-conformist, so the parish
registers may be of no use at all?
Your best bet would be to order a copy of the birth certificate from the Wrexham Registry
Office which will give you the information you need.
The NorthWalesBMD index gives several possibilities:
1852 William Williams (RBN/012/98)
1853 William Williams (RBN/014/8)
1854 William Williams (RBN/014/31)
1855 William Williams (RBN/015/45)
1856 William Williams (RBN/016/49 & RBN/016/76 & RBN/016/79 & RBN/016/82 &
RBN/016/87)
and Wrexham should be able to sort out which one is yours.
The site also gives a couple of *possibilities* for a marriage at Ruabon parish church:
1850 William Williams & Elizabeth READ
1851 William Williams & Elizabeth RALPHS
Have you any idea which part of Rhos they lived in?
Ian
