Hmmm, I'm not sure really, but I suppose it's quite a possibility given the
Mother's profession, and at least the "women in trouble" (poor women!) were
in the hands of a professional, that is assuming a monthly nurse is a sort of
midwife..................Come to think of it is that what it means? Let's
hope the monthly nurse was more compassionate than some (not all) of the
characters involved in the area of adoption at that time in Ireland and
specifically in the laundries and convents!
