Thank you, Rhian. In 1841 she was in Bath, Somerset, as head of household
(or listed first, anyway), with her younger sister Elizabeth and their nieces
Henrietta and Maria WILLIAMES, daughters of her sister Henrietta, who died in
February 1841. The girls' father died in April 1844, but Ann raised and
educated the girls because he was insolvent. In 1841 none of the 4 was born in
Somerset.
Anne Susannah MAURICE's mother was Anne DAVIES, dau. of Rev. David Davies,
rector of Llanfyllin, co. Merioneth, by Anne, his wife, heiress of Rugôg in the
same shire (Burke's Landed Gentry, 5th ed. 1875 vol. 1 p. 281). I haven't
found any connections to Derbyshire.
Cheers,
Alejandro
Llangelynin is a parish near Tywyn (Towyn) Merioneth, and it would not be
unusual for it to be known as Celynin, so I think you're stuck with
Merioneth.
Where is she in 1841? Would it help to know if the answer is Yes or No to
the question Born in this county? Where was her mother from? Maybe she'd
gone home to give birth and so the baby may have been born somewhere
different to where she lived?
Rhian
