I forgot to give you the reference for the 1871 census. It's RG10/5653/181/48 and you
will need it because Ancestry have transcribed Rebecca as "Belcha Davies"!!!!
They were living in Penrhos.
Similarly, they appear in 1891 at RG12/4612/140/14, has Henry as "Mary". They
are living near the 'White Horse'.
Most of the BMD information I gave you came from the NorthWalesBMD (
http://www.northwalesbmd.org.uk/ ) which has records from 1837 onwards.
Also I have copies of all of the parish records for Ruabon and Rhosllannerchrugog and the
baptism records from several local non-conformist chapels (all from the Clwyd FHS -
http://www.clwydfhs.org.uk/ )
Another record which might fit:
- 31 Mar 1838: John DAVIES, collier of Morton Above, son of Henry DAVIES, miner married
Mary DODD, of Morton Above, dau of James DODD
Have you heard of Platt's 'Map of Rhos in 1835'? This can also provide useful
information (particularly as the 1841 Ruabon census is missing!)
The Dodd family appear on the map, living in Penrhos. The family history notes with the
map give: "Jami Dodd - tad Henry Davies" (Jami Dodd - father of Henry Davies;
but it should be father-in-law?).
