Message Board Post:
I've just taken another look and I think I can see what happened.
The 1871 census shows that there was another child, Joseph DAVIES, born about 1858, but
the registers give:
1858: Joseph PRINCE, born Ruabon.
so I'm guessing that Rebecca was married to a PRINCE when Joseph was born but
remarried before the 1871 census?
This would fit in with:
23 Jan 1858: Edwin PRINCE, 22, joiner of Felin Puleston, son of Thomas PRINCE, labourer,
married Rebecca JONES, 23, servant, of Ponciau, dau of Edward JONES, collier. Wrexham 11b
413.
1863: Edwin PRINCE died Ruabon, Wrexham 11b 210
7 Sep 1863: Edwin PRINCE, age 29, of Ponciau, buried at Rhosllannerchrugog Parish Church,
certified by Henry Davies.
and then Rebecca married Henry DAVIES in 1866? The later children were Henry &
Rebecca's.
