hi Jude
many of the pubs in and around llangollen have a long history. the Sun being
one of several, the Bridge End being another.
I live in Llangollen during the 1960s ( was born there), moved to Melbourne
in 1969
cheers Cliff

Subject: [DENBIGHSHIRE] Llangollen
Hello
I'm new to this list ... first time.
I have just discovered ancestors that were Licensed Victuallers in the
1841 census
and lived at Church Street Llangollen.
They being Absolom and Sarah Evans (nee: Jones)
I was wondering if anyone can tell what pubs would have been in this
street
at this time (1841).
It appears one of their sons, Joseph, was the Inn Keeper at teh Sun Inn in
REgent Street in the 1881 census.
I would be grateful if someone could direct me to a web site to find out
the history of the Sun Inn
and perhaps pubs in Church Street.
