Many thanks for your reply,I had read somewhere that the rhyme had in fact been written
about ten years before her claim,in America.Gwen Jones lived with her husband John
jones(see I pick the easy ones)and children,Thomas(my great grandad)aged 1 and daughter
Ann Jane,4 in Bache at Dukes(terrace?) in the1871 census, and then I cant find Gwen or john
after that,I know when thomas married in 1894,he puts John down as deceased.
Thanks for your clear directions for finding Ty-issa,and explaining the surrounding
areas.
Could you tell me if Dukes terrace is still there,as the nice chap at Llangollen told me
they were shabby buildings even then,so the dreaded word clearance and development ring in
my ears!
Im coming to llangollen soon, with my mum,who was born in Johnstown, and can help me with my
welsh,to try and find out some more,
Thanks again,Bruni
