There is a possible marriage at Chirk in 1819:
12 Jul 1819: Richard Roberts (widower) & Mary Cash (widow)
Witnesses: Richard Roberts & Jane Cash
where the witness Richard Roberts is likely to be the groom's father? But note that
both groom and bride were married previously!
I can see the family you've given at Brynkinallt, Chirk in 1841: Richard (55, i.e.
aged 55-59) and children Richard (13); Thomas (10); Maria (20)
(I suspect that Maria went on to marry the lodger, John Mates, at Chirk soon after the
census?)
A Mary Roberts died in Halton, Chirk in Feb 1841, aged 55 (so born c1786).
But I can see a family at Woodside Cottages, Chirk in 1851: Richard (68) and children
Harriett (27); Thomas (20); Robert (5)
and this Harriett fits the baptism:
1824: Harriett Roberts, d/o Richard (collier) & Mary of Halton
(It's possible that Robert may be a grandson, not son?)
So I'm guessing that it's the same family? However, this Richard gives his place
of birth as Oswestry! You give your Richard as being born in the town of Denbigh, quite
far from Chirk and Oswestry???
A Richard Roberts died in Black Park, Chirk in 1860, aged 79
