I've just spotted this on the 1871 census. It suggests that the Hughes' may have
misled us about their places of birth?

Thomas Hughes, Son, 9 [c1862], Scholar, Glyn Ceiriog, Denbighshire

This fits in with the marriage for Thomas Hughes & Ann Edwards in 1859 [Oswestry 6a
1328], the Oswestry RD included Chirk!
