But even in the 1851 census, at the age of 25, and his brother James, age 23, both give
their place of birth as "N.K., Denbigh", so they may have moved to Bilston when
they were very young?
The move from "Dodon" to "Dolywern" needs some imagination?
There were a large number of Jones' in Bilston who originated in Denbighshire!!!
The railway from Ruabon to Shrewsbury was opened in 1848, giving easy access to the
Wolverhampton and Birmingham areas
Looking in general at people living in Bilston, but born in Denbighshire, they originated
in:
Brymbo; Bryneglwys; Chirk; Glyn Ceiriog; Llangollen; Llanrwst; Llansilin; Minera; Ruabon
and Wrexham.
Ruabon seems to occur most often, and both Bilston and Ruabon had similar industries, so I
wonder if "Dodon" is a very bad corruption of "Ruabon"???
If so, remember that there is no Ruabon 1841 census!
