Yes, take care here, there are two Broughtons in north-east Wales! You are looking at the
first one.
Broughton, Wrexham - a parish in the western suburbs of Wrexham. It contained the
villages of Pentre Broughton, New Broughton, Moss, Cerney, Brynteg... and was close to
Gwersyllt, Brymbo, Coedpoeth ...
Broughton, Flintshire - a village in the parish of Hawarden.
Also, 'Great Boughton' was the name of the Registration District for the western
part of Cheshire. It existed from 1837 to 1869. In 1870 the name was changed to
'Chester'.
