Hi,
I am trying to track the family of my grandfather David Jones JONES b
1890/1
somewhere in Wales! I know from his marriage certificate that his father
Edward Maldwyn JONES was a policeman and deceased by 1920 (my grandparents
wedding). At the time of his marriage David gives Moreton, a small town in
the Wirral as his home but I have been unable to get anywhere with this. My
mother has vague recollections that the family was from the Llangollen or
Wrexham area.
Is there anyone on the list who knows of the following Edward JONES who
appears in the 1881 census thus:
Dwelling: House Attached to Town Hall
Census Place: (Llangollen) Bache, Denbigh, Wales
Source: FHL Film 1342331 PRO Ref RG11 Piece 5541 Folio 47

Edward JONES M 24 M Llanarmon D C, Denbigh, Wales
Rel: Head
Occ: Police Sergeant
Mary S. JONES M 24 F Ruthin, Denbigh, Wales
Rel: Wife
My grandparents separated when my mother was very small and my grandfather
never mentioned again, that is why I know so little. I have ordered several
birth certificates, but so far to no avail.
Here's hoping that someone may know something of the above Edward so that I
can either rule him in or out as the case may be.
Yours in anticipation!!
