I haven't seen anything from the Denbighshire List since I subscribed in October!
Surely it can't be than inactive? Anyway, here I go again:
Researching my ancestors:
Benjamin Davis Bn Northwich about 1811 married Susannah Williams of Llanfair DC 1837.
Was Clerk to the Guardians of Ruthin Union and Superintendent Registrar for Ruthin until
his death in 1894.
Anchorite Davis bn 1837, daughter of above married a William Mitchell from Kent. No other
info.
Thomas Davis - son of Benjamin Bn Ruthin abt 1843 - no other info.
Elizabeth Davis, unmarried daughter of Benjamin, died 1925, lived in Mwrog street. Was a
"sick nurse". Does anyone know anything about her?
Benjamin Davis, Jr. son of Benjamin. Became a policeman in Birkenhead (1891 census). He
may have retired to Ruthin. Is he the same Benjamin Davis who was a poet whose
manuscripts for various Eistedffords are deposited at Ruthin record Office?
John Edward Davis, Bn. 1860 Llanfwrog, Ruthin son of Benjamin Snr. Can't find him
anywhere.
John Edward Davis or Davies, son of Benjamin junior married Edith Roberts, Birkenhead but
later came to live in Ruthin and died there in 1948. He married "Ivy" in the
1940s and both are buried in Llanbedr Church. Edith died in 1939 whilst playing the piano
to patients at Ruthin Hospital. Does anyone know any more about them, please?
Any info, however insignificant, will be gladly received.
