Hi there! This is my first appeal for help. I am seeking any information, however
trivial regarding my great x 2 grandfather, Benjamin Davis, who was the Superintendent
Registrar for Ruthin from 1863 to 1894 when he died. He lived at Pen Lan, Mwrog Street,
Llanfwrog until his death. Does anyone know where in Mwrog Street Pen Lan is or if it
still exists? He was married to Susannah Williams from Llanfair and they had several
children, one of whom was William Peacock Davis. According to tombstone in Llanfwrog
Church, William died aboard the ship, ELIZA BONSAL July 1861 during her passage from
Charlestown to Liverpool. How can I find out more about his death or the ship? Another
son, my great grandfather was BENJAMIN DAVIS, junior who became a police officer, married
MARY HUGHES from Birkenhead, and in 1891 was living in Birkenhead. I recently found
manuscripts of many poems and prose written for various eistedffords by a Benjamin Davies
and suspect this was my Benjamin junior. How can I find out more? He had a son, John
Edward Davis, my grandfather, who died at 6 Parc y Dre, Ruthin in 1948. He was married to
Edith Davis nee Roberts who died in Ruthin Hospital December 1939, later he married Ivy.
They had a son, Dennis but I haven't been able to find him yet. If there any
descendants of either of the Benjamin Davis's out there - I would love to find you.
June from the Cotswolds.
