Hi - new to the list........
I have today been told that a relative of mine was born in Wrexham.
George Picton Davies was born in Jan 1838. He served in the Welsh Fusiliers
and was at the Relief of Lucknow, Indian Mutiny, in 1857. Nothing else is
known about him until 1890 when he has become a Baptist Minister in Redhill
Surrey. He retired to Western Super Mare in 1933 and died at the age of 96.
I am told he married three times.
I believe his parents to be James Picton Davies and Justina nee Davids.
James was a solicitor.
The other children were born in Carmarthen - David Picton Davies being my
GGgrandfather. There was also a James John.
Any help would be much appreciated. I would really like to see the Baptism
record for George to confirm his parentage. Have the Wrexham records been
indexed ? Which county would it have been in 1838?
Thanks
Cathy
