Subject: [DEN] Williams family of Llanddoget/Llanrwst
Hello,
I am trying to locate further information on the ancestry and descendants
of
Robert Williams born c. 1844 in Llanrwst, Denbighshire. According to
information in the 1881 census provided to me by Dafydd Hayes, Robert
Williams resided at Ty Gwyn, Llanddoget, Denbigh with his wife Margaret
(age
27 native of Maenan, Denbigh); son Robert Williams (age 3) and son
Hugh
(age
5 months).
Robert died in Llanddoget on 13 Dec 1882 & buried at Capel Seion in
Llanrwst
on 16 Dec 1882. Robert Williams' memorial card was sent to my
great-great
Grandfather Robert Johnson in Genoa, Nevada, USA. Robert Johnson was born
in
Wales in 1838 & emigrated to the US in the 1860's. I believe
Robert
Johnson
was a friend or some sort of relation of Robert Williams.
Does anyone know further information on Robert Williams, his family or
descendants? I am trying to determine if my Robert came from this area of
Denbigh. Robert Johnson's second son was named Harry Kyffin Johnson.
Kyffin
may be a family name. I'm hoping the Williams and the Johnson
families
connect at some point. Thank you very much for any help or suggestions for
further research! Jim Goold
