She died, single, in Kensington, London in 1904:
Davies, Ethel Gwendolen Isabel Myra, of 4 Lexham Gardens, Kensington, Middlesex, spinster, died 26 October at Fawcett Street, South Kensington. Administration (with Will): London, 21 Dec to Luis Alwyn, consulting-electrical engineer. Effects £3647 11s 5d.
I'm not able to find the family on the 1901 census though. I'm assuming they were living in Kensington, London?

It seems I am mistaken about her being married. The photo that I studied and thought were wedding rings must have been reversed when the negative was printed, ie. left hand looks like right hand. I am now trying to trace what happened to her sister Ethel Gwendoline Davies (born 1864). If you can help? Their mother died in 1903 and the last census I was able to see of her she was still single. I see there are a couple of marriages of Ethel Gwendoline's after 1903 and perhaps one of them is her? Unable to view at present.
Many thanks

Hi Debby,
Yes, I had only found the birth. I too failed on a marriage and had come to the conclusion that her marriage did not take place in Wales or England!
The entry on the NWBMD index only gives "M F Margaret Davies" but the entries on the 1871 census for Kensington [RG10/31/102/64] and on the 1881 census for Folkestone [RG11/1009/122/49] do have "Muriel" as her first name.
If you are now saying that Muriel died in 1886, then she must have been married between April 1881 and 1886. Could this marriage have taken place in South Africa?

Hi, have found Muriel Frances Margaret Davies. She died here in South Africa in 1886.(must have been visiting her brother and his family). There is apparently an entry in the UK. I don't know what register would have it. Her mother Isabel Eleanor Davies who was living in Kensington, London is also mentioned in the entry.

The Clwyd BMD register indexes are on their Family History Society website link. www.clwydfhs.co.org (i think that's correct). All the north wales register indexes are there.
Good luck

Hi again, have checked marriage register indexes and can still find nothing. I thought I had had a breakthrough, but I think you meant the birth register and not marriage register! BI is for 1863, 2nd qtr 11b.
I have also checked all Clwyd registers online and there does not seem to be any Davies with a remotely similar name (Muriel or Mariel or Mariee). If you can help at all?
Debby

There seems to be confusion over her first name. On the birth index (RTHN/06/27) she is down as Mariee but on every census record I found she was listed as Muriel! All the photgraphs I have only have M F M Davies and the back. You are an absolute star! Thanks you for that.... Big favour though, are you able to tell me anything from her marriage record? Spouses name etc. I have hit an absolute brick wall in finding any details of my great grandfathers brothers and sisters. I just presumed the boys might have died in a war and was stumped about the girls. I do appreciate your reply.. Thanks again
Debby

Where did you get the "Muriel" from? The BMD registers have:
1883 Qtr2: DAVIES, Mariee Frances Margaret (Ruthin 11b 373)

My great- grandfather's sister, who according to census records I can find, was Muriel Frances Margaret Davies (birth register index ref: RTHN/06/27).Born 1863. The last photogragh I have, I suppose taken around the 1880's,you can distinctly see rings on her "wedding finger". The problem is I have searched every site I can think of and can find no trace of her marriage. Her uncle Robert George Johnson (and then cousin Bertie Cecil Johnson,) were the owners of Llanrhydd Hall. I think her father was dead by the time she got married, so am presuming she would have married near to her uncle's?
Please if anyone is able to help, it would be much appreciated. (I am in South Africa)
Regards
Debby

Can anyone living local to Wrexham do a christening search for me please? Parents names are John Evans and Eliza Hughes. I know of two sons, John born 1910 and Reginald born 1929, these being the eldest and the youngest. Also a daughter Elizabeth born Q4 1911, but there were others born between 1911 and 1929. I have tried BMD's but there are far too many to order birth certificates for them all so my only recourse is baptismal records.Help please!!!

Thanks for your message. My Daniel was born in or around 1810 and may be related to yours although not directly. Mine had three children, but none were born in Llandyrnog nor were they called Daniel.
Do you know who the mother of your Daniel was?
All the best,
Laurence Mann

Hi
I know it is 5 years since you posted about Daniel Davies d 9 March 1872,I have been searching for the date of birth of my g grandfather Daniel Davies b 1843 in Llandyrnog who's father was also Daniel Davies. Like yourself my Daniel is on the 1861 census for Llandyrnog, but no sign of him before that not even on the B.M D records.
I was wondering if there is any connection between the 2 Daniel's as they lived quite close.
Regards
Thomas Jones
