Hi bromaelor,
Thanks for the look up!
I been very confused by the changing places of birth!
I needed a little lift up so thanks for info : )
The Preston Brook, Runcorn is the main connection Should I assume they are most likely my family I have no birth certificate for my Grandad John Newns 1904-1968?
I have found a connection to Preston Brook by a birth certficate of a brother Joseph - I received a few days ago I took a chance as neither Joseph or John Thomas the elder brother is on the 1901 census.
Mother - Mary Speed, Preston Brook father John Newns. They are the nearest in the 1901 census in Salford to the streets where John 1904 lived later on in life.
I have a tree on Ancestry if anyone is interested?
Thanks again
Vicky

Looks like:
1871 Q1 John Newns (Wrexham 11b 303)
That certificate should give you his parents' names.
I can only see on possibility on the censuses?
1871 Bwlchgwyn, Wrexham: John Newns, age 3m, born Brymbo, son of William & Margaret E Newns
1881 Trefalyn, Rossett, Wrexham: John Newns, age 10, born Trefalyn/Allington, son of William & Margaret Newns
1891 Preston Brook, Runcorn: John (born Rossett), age 21, is married to Mary (born Preston Brook)
1901 Salford: John (born Bangor) is married to Mary (born Preston Brook)
The places of birth are a bit of a mess but that's not unusual!

Hi
Thanks for the information, unfortunately this is the wrong family. My William James Wallace EASSON was the son of William Scolly EASSON, born 1853 in Perth, Scotland and Jessie SPOWART. William James Wallace EASSON was born in Ulverston, Lancashire as was his sister Graham. They are in the 1891 UK Census in Hexham, Northumberland.
Thanks
Mark

Lois. You said Samuel was in the "1st King's Shropshire"? This means he was in the "1st Battalion".
