He was a Farmer in Llanrhaiadr when he died in 1868 aged 68. Have found him on the 1841 census with wife Ann, children Ann, Mary and Eleanor. Having difficulty finding out any more about him and his family. His son John already left home by then and was my Gt.Gt.Grandfather. Does anyone have the family one their tree?

Hi Bruni
Yes your correct it was TB it was quite previlant round about 1870's i have found a few family members who also died of it round about this time. As for her age perhaps her birthday was around the time of the census's I have had a look at an ordnance survey map and found a Ty Issa farm which is near to the tow path near the aquaduct at Froncysyllte, and Llangollen fechan http://getamap.ordnancesurvey.co.uk as the area around the golf and i found a ty ucha (meaning Highest House)just above the golf course course, so may be Ty issa was may be were the golf course is now,the only other option is may be go to A.N.Palmer centre in wrexham and ask to look at a map for the time period or check the obituaries in the local paper of the time, you could also try putting a message on the notice boards there are a couple of guys who know the area well and who help people out and have old maps they have helped me a couple of times.
Regards sandy

Hi Sandy,Got the death Certificate for Gwen Jones today,She is down as 42 yrs when she died on 21st Mar 1877,from other censuses I had her down as born in 1836,which would make her 41,but Im aware of certain changes of 1 yr,in many censuses, however I still cant certainly claim her yet in my mind!!her address is Ty Issa,Llangollen fechan. She lived in Bache,Llangollen on the 1871 census,I Know that Bache and fechan both mean small, but are they separate villages,I suspect that they are.She died of Phthisis, which another of my relatives in Rhosllannerchrugog, died of.It was consumption/tb wasnt it?
thinking i may contact Llangollen museum again to see if they have photos.
on googling Ty Issa, all i get is the mary had a little lamb woman who lived on a farm of that name, but I think Im looking for an area?
Thanks,Bruni

Looking for any info on Esther or Hester Burker/Barker of Wrexham who married Nathanial Maddocks in 1730. He was from Holywell and it is believed that they married in Liverpool. Esther may have been a widow when she married Nathaniel.
Any info appreciated for a friend in New Zealand.
Mike
