As one of the youngest members of a little family that has very little of it's history to go on....I would dearly love to find out more!
We are sure that there is a Spanish American connection; Mr Great Grandfather was James Lavell/e Sulphur a trapeze artist who married a midwife from North Wales called Henrietta Jones (she rode a motorbike)
Does anyone out there have any information whatsever please?
Many thanks

Was your John Edwards alive in the early 1980s ? Or do any of these points fit ? He would have been born in the age range you specif 1870-1880s. When my grandmother died an unknown great Uncle called John, attended the funeral (I have the paper clipping). This John came from Ruthin at that time.
Did he have children and what names ? Who did they marry ? Rgds, John

Have found a marriage in 1866 of a William Davies to an Ann Lewis in St Asaph but cannot find the family on the 1871 census in Denbighshire. Have you any other information that might help, i.e. date of birth or year of birth for either William or Anne?

No, we don't have any confirmed dates or places for John.
All we've got is that his wife's mother's name was Ann Davies.
My Grandma was born in 1917, so John would have probably been born about the 1870-1880s. Grandma apparently grew up on Park Lane, though i'm not sure what the Welsh translation for that is.
Thanks.

I know I'm replying to an old message...I just started the Voyles/Voiles family line a few days ago. Thanks to all the people researching this line, I've already got a good start!
William Voyles & wife Hannah Bundi would be my Gr. x4 Grandparents...if I counted right. (This William Voyles was the son of Jacob & Martha Voyles.) William and Hannah's daughter, Mary (who married William Townsend, Jr.) is how my line continues. The Voyles and Townsend families were apparently quite intertwined, and I'm a descendant of both lines. Mary (Voyles) and William Townsend ended up in Morgan Cnty., IN, and I have photographed their graves there and am waiting for the film.
I'm still putting my information together that I have been able to find, but I was wondering about a couple of things:
1) I had read notes from someone that thought William and Hannah were buried on the family farm in Concord, NC. Does anyone know if their graves have been found? If so, does anyone have any photos?
2) Has anybody been to or live near the Concord, NC area and know where the family home was, and/or if it exists today?
3) Does anybody know the name of the ship William came over on and/or was indentured on?
(I'm a historic house/building buff....I really enjoy trying to find any homes that exist today that my anscestors lived in!)
Thanks for any help you can provide!
LaDonna

I've got EDWARDS from Ruthin too.
My Great-Grandparents were, John Edwards & Mary Diana Jones.
Of their children, one went to South Africa, one went to Canada, and descendants from another one, apparently own or owned a pub in the Ruthin Area.
Any chance they turn up in your family?
