Henry's father Edward was a brother to Jane Price, my wife's 2nd Great Grand mother. Edward & Jane's parents were Edward & Margaret.
I have attempted to send you an e-mail, but with little success, please respond if you read this.
Hi Gill, (mainly). I can confirm for your interest from three sources that
the "P" against Thomas Driscoll in your 1841 list does indeed stand for
"Publican".
We have found via the LDS site a match up for a daughter Jane with a mother
either Laura or Lowri prior to 1850 in Wales.
Below shows census results - Davis is apparently incorrect however and
should probably be Davies (Davis is apparently not a proper Welch name).
Laura is probably actually Lowri also.

Hi
Thank you to all those who helped me with my EDWARD HUGHES.
Sorry to be a pain, but does SKS have access to the 1851 census for Denbighshire?
EDWARD was born circa 1848/49 so would have been 2 or 3 years old.
His fathers name was EDWARD age 40 born LLANSILIN and his mother ELIZABETH age 38 born LLANARMON
EDWARD was the eldest child and the address COULD BE
PANT Y GASEG.
Many thanks
Liz
Dear all,
I would be grateful for a look-up in the 1851 census for Thomas and Sarah
Driscoll of Wrexham, probaly Lambpit St. I need to send for a birth cert of
one of the children born post 1837 to confirm the maiden name of their
mother. In anticipation, Bill.
Hi Liz,
The obvious place to look is at the 1851 census for where he says he was
born - have you tried doing that? He would have been aged 2 - 3 yrs.
Anne

Liz, et al,
Should your HUGHES quest uncover any connection with or information
concerning the family of Henry HUGHES, b Isycoed, 1846, who married Jane
(HUGHES?) 1868, and had children: Louisa, Thomas Henry, Mary Jane, Martha
and Elizabeth, all born Wrexham, I am interested.
Louisa was my wife's Grandmother. She married Alfred Edward Maynard NEWBATT
RN in Portsmouth, Q3 1901 and their only child, Edward Marshall Maynard
NEWBATT was born Wrexham, 04 Dec 1902.
Census for 1891 shows her living in Portsmouth with James and Margaret
MARSHALL; in 1901 she was with Margaret Marshall, 54, her aunt, who was also
born in Wrexham. I haven't quite unravelled where Margaret fits into the
earlier picture - too many other irons in the fire - but I shall get there.

Hi, I know it was a long time since you first made the posting concerning information on David Foulkes Lloyd. But I have only recently made some discoveries about my Lloyd ancestors.
My G g g grandfather was Robert Lloyd b 1819 in Denbigh. He was a Lawyers Clerk married to Eleanor Foulkes. Their Wedding was 2 Jul 1842 at St Nicholas, Liverpool. Their son David Foulkes Lloyd was born on 19 Oct 1842 and christened at St Peter, Liverpool, the same day as his brother William on 2 Nov 1846. William was born in Liverpool. They had a sister Margaret Elizabeth b 1852 Denbigh. The family were living in Manchester in 1861,where William was working as a Cabinet Maker.
Please contact me if you require any more details I will be pleased to hear from you.

Hi
Can anyone help me please?
I am searching for EDWARD HUGHES born circa 1848/49.
I have tried the following Registry Offices
WREXHAM, OSWESTRY, WELSHPOOL and RUTHIN.
They have all replied negative.
On the 1871 and the 1881 census his place of birth is
LLANRHEAEDR YM MOCHNANT, DENBIGHSHIRE.
I have also tried the GRO asking for a search, but they have said that as it is a common name they can't do it.
Where do I go from here?
Thank you

apologies for my ignorance, I saw that someone recommended the lds for tracing one of there relatives, so I thought I would give it a try to trace my great Aunt 's marrage certificate, I dont know her husbands name but have her parents name and a bit of an idea when she married.
I put in details and it came back with 11 sources listed but i can,t make head nor tail, how do I find out if the info matches her?
Thanks
Researching William and Jane EDWARDS, sons Arthur Henry 1888, William 1895 and Harry bc1897, daughter Jane bc1890. Maybe another daughter Mary Ellen bc1885 - died 1902. Family lived Tollgate Cottage Lower Penrhyn 1902, Tollgate House, Penrhyn 1903.
William was the son of Thomas and Eleanor/Ellen EDWARDS of Llandrillo-yn-Rhos.
Anyone connected?
Hilda.
Can anyone help on the matter of Jeremiah Driscoll who was a master
carpenter in the Royal Navy, the widower of Mary who died in Wrexham aged 86
in July 1841 when living with her son Thomas and daughter in law, Sarah in
Lambpit St.
Basically is there an e-list I can look at re the Royal Navy employees in
this part of the century? Unfortunately I don't know how long Mary had been
a widow. More in hope than anticipation, Bill.
Thanks very much again,Ian re your info. From the 1835 ref in Pigot with
Thomas Driscoll as a retailer of beer it would seem that the Raglan Arms
does not fit the bill. On the other hand he may just have sold beer from his
house as I understand many people did c. 1840s. However one ref to his
occupation on a marriage cert is as an inn keeper.
He makes the fourth publican including ourselves in different branches of my
wife's family! I liked your comment about the Seven Star's liveliness. Not a
pub to visit on a Saturday lunchtime when Wrexham are playing at home- if
they still exist next season- is this what you meant? As Thomas came from
Ireland, I hope it isn't an Irish themed pub. Regards, Bill.

Hi William,
If you think it is the 'Seven Stars' take a look at:
http://www.wrexham.gov.uk/english/planning_portal/publications/public_houses
/pub_stars.htm
I know this site says the pub was built in 1898 but that was the date
the current building was built. The original pub was built before the
1750s. Notice however that the entrance is in Chester Street not Lampit
Street (which is the road to the left of the photo), but perhaps the
previous building did open onto Lampit Street.
I think the Seven Stars today could best be described as a 'lively' pub!

Ian, brilliant - it is wonderful that people have done this research. It is
even better that the pub is still there for us to call and enjoy a pint!
Many thanks for the message,Bill.

Hi Bill,
Lampit Street is quite small!
According to "Wrexham Breweries & Inns", the only pub actually in Lampit
Street was "The Raglan Arms" which was built in the 1850s and was
demolished in the redevelopment of that area in the 1980s. However,
there is one other pub, on the corner of Chester Road and Lampit Street,
called "The Seven Stars", which is still there today.
Pigots 1835 Directory gives, under 'Retailers of Beer': "DRISCOLL,
Thomas, Lampit St"
