I'm trying to trace my great grandfather John Lloyd's family. He was born in either Nant Mawr or Trefonen near Oswestry in about 1863. He married Margaret Ann Phillips of Llangedwyn in 1883. She was the daughter of Ebenezar Phillips of Briw. They lived in Llangedwyn from that time both working at Llangedwyn Hall estate.
I am trying to trace my Grt Grt Grt Grandfather with the unusual name of John Williams He was born in 1806 in either Abergele or Llanwrst. His parents were Hugh(1777) and Elizabeth (1781)Williams.
Is there any one out there interested in this family?
Regards Linda

I am trying to find my grandmother and have come to a full stop. I have found her with her parents, John (48),mother Elizabeth (51) and sister Elizabeth (7), in 1871 when she is 10 and named Elinor living in Chester Rd, the Green Gresford.
In 1881 she is 20 living in the School House Gresford with her father and sister Elizabeth. She was then named Ellen.
I have her marriage certificate for Feb 1888 when she is called Ellen and aged 27. From this I suspect her birthday is probably in March.
I have applied to both Wrexham and the ONS for her birth certificate and neither can find her in the period 1860 - 62.
I have asked on this board before for help and received it, but still cannot find her birth.
Does anyone have access to the 1861 census to see if she is on there.
The other possibility is she was adopted and this is new to me. If she was adopted can anyone point me in the direction I can start looking to find her details?
Many thanks
Frank

My wife's g grandparents were married in the Parish Church at Gwersyllt on
the 8/2/1869, but I know nothing about them before that date. The marriage
certificate says they resided at Summerhill and both of their fathers, John
Ratcliffe and Samuel Lockett were Colliers. I wonder if SKS can help me
trace their ancestors ?
Thanks for any help,
Godfrey

Whilst on 1837 looking for certificates, came accross advertisment for genealogists family history shows in April and September 2005.
Being very new to researching my family history would anybody recomend these types of shows or is it only for the experienced researchers.
