IN between my posting, I have located more information.
We located Jane Lloyd (nee Eddowes) (widow) living in the house of William
and Harriet Lloyd in Wrexham on the 1881 census. Jane was married before she
married James Evans.
Jane Eddowes married Edward Lloyd and had 2 sons.
She was widowed sometime between 1878 and before the 1881 census.
She moved in with her sister Harriet Lloyd (nee Eddowes)
James Evans had to married Jane Lloyd (nee Eddowes) sometime between Apr
3/1881 to Jan 1882. We were off by a year.
With the arrival of my Nana 's birth certificate, we learn she was born in
1882 not 1881.
Also in the last week James Evans (my great grandfather) and John Evans
were located living in Rhosrobin in someone house as a lodgers.
MY g grandfather James Evans is from Minera, Wrexham.
We know that John Evans emigrated to the States.
In 1905, my Nana (James and Jane (Lloyd) Evans daughter appears in Hulme
Manchester and marries my grandfather.
I have just begun to try and find my Evans connection however they are from
Minera Wrexham. (something to do with tar pits that we know about)
Thank you so much for helping....Lynda

Have tried to search for James Evans and Jane Evans in 1881 census but have
not been able to locate the two as a couple by that name in this area. Do you
have any other details? Evans is quite a common name in this area. (There are
numerous James and Janes but not together.) There are also a few Janes with
daughters called Ellen. Do you know any other sons/daughters names? to help
ID the right one.
Rhosrobin is a small place just outside Gwersyllt which is not far from
Wrexham.
If you look at WWW.streetmap.co.uk and input Rhosrobin it shows you.
If you click on the arrow on the right hand side of the screen it pans right.
You will see Wats Dyke, if you follow the black line north (Railway line).
Where the dotted pink lines runs parallel to this on the right hand side of
it, used to be a Colliery (Gresford). (Well known for a disaster (in 1934 if
I remember correctly).
It is likely that living where they did that if James was collier he worked
here.
If you do not get any joy re the Baptist Church (I do not know how or where)
but I should be visiting my parents in a few weeks in Wrexham and will try
and find out from local library.
Cheers hope this helps a little.

Dear Jane,
Molly looked all through the 1851 census for this family and she was unablr to find anything.
She also looked in the Baptisms for both but found nothing,
Sorry. Perhaps if you supply a little more info. as the Wrexham area is so big and there are many Townships there. They may have lived outside Wrexham, but named that as Liverpool people wouldn't have understood the Welsh names, I know we tend to do that, name our nearest big City, which is Chester, when we are explaining to people where we live, it's easier!
Regards,
Mavis & Molly

You could try searching the online Public Record Office catalogue, or better
still contact Ruthin Record Office as they based in what was the Old Prison
they may still have all the old records.

Hello List
Could anyone advise me on searching for a church.
I now know that my great grandparents lived on a street called Rhosrobin in
Gwersyllt. County of Wrexham.
I think that is the proper way to say the address.
They attended a Baptise Church.
How does one do a search of Churches in that area?
Any suggestion would be appreciated.
They would have lived there is 1881.
Thank you Lynda in Canada

HI
I am very excited as I have some solid information on my great grandparents
now.
If anyone could help, I would be very thankful.
I have (with the help of Antony) located my Nana Lizzie Evan's birth
certificate.
The notice saids Rhosrobin Gwersyllt Wrexham.
Is Rhosrobin Gwersyllt a sub division of Wrexham?
Could someone look up James Evans (collier)(Rhosrobin) and Jane Evans (nee
Eddowes)on the 1881 census for this area. My nana was born in Dec 1881, so
she will not be listed however the parents should be together. They was
children. Ellen for one...
Any information would be appreciated?
Tried to search the webb however not alot of information on this section of
Wrexham.
Could anyone tell me what the words means?
Thanking you in advance.
1st breakthrough for this family.

Surname: Phillips, Jones, Roberts, Williams, Weaver
-------------------------
My Mother, Mary-Jane Phillips was born in Pen-y-Cae in 1902, the daughter
of Ellis Phillips. She had seven sisters. Selina,Sara,Fanny,Ethel,Harriet,Laura
and Elsie. In the 1930's and 1940's I used to go on holiday with my parents
to
Rhosllanerchrugog, to visit Harriet and her children, Dorys, Stanley and
Eric Jones. Harriet had married Jairus Jones sometime in the early '30's.
The sisters lived in Cefn-Mawr, Acrefair, Rhos, Penycae and Ruabon. Fanny
lived in Llangollen. Since I came to Canada in the 60's I have lost touch
with my many relatives. Please help me re-establish contact, if you can.
Thank you.
