Linda,
As far as I am aware there is no freely searchable record, such as micro
fiche, of burials at Brynmawr cemetery. However requests for searches can be
made to the local authority for burials at the cemetery and there is a
charge I believe.
I was given the following address a couple of years ago:-
Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council,
Municipal Offices,
Ebbw Vale.
NP23 6XB
Tel. no. 01495 350555.
(A Mrs.Brooks was mentioned if I remember correctly.)
I went to the cemetery on a search mission and was given this address by the
sexton who just happened to be there at the time. He was very helpful and
looked up the plot I was looking for in cemetery records and guided me to
it. Fortunately I had plot details and a name search was not necessary. The
cemetery is on a hillside that is very exposed and many of the gravestones
have fallen or have been removed. Many that remain erect from that era have
eroded so inscriptions cannot be read. (I was lucky that the grave that I
was interested in was perfectly preserved under one of the few bushes on the
hillside. I don't suppose that I will be so lucky next time I do a search
there; so I will probably have to ask the "authority".)
I don't know if memorial inscriptions have been recorded by the authority or
by other parties. I get the impression that the authorities do not allow
wholesale M.I. transcriptions. Perhaps you will receive more information
about that from the list.
Regards,
John

Is there a Micro fiche available of Brynmawr Cemetery I am trying
to
find Rebecca Meredith who died in Brynmawr between 1891 and 1901 (born
1806) and maybe her husband David.
Where would people from Llanwenarth and Garndyrris have been buried 1800
and 1900
same question is there a list CD or micro fiche of it
