I don't know yet, only found the name in the Glamorgan 1861 census a couple
of days ago.
I have the 1:50000 maps in the PC so I can see it on the map. I take it the
name is used for the whole area of the parish rather than the few houses
near where Maesmynis is marked on the map?
I might see if I can find time to get to the County Archives.

Where in Maesmynis was your gggrandfather born?
Maesmynis is a parish near the Epynt Mountain southwest of
Builth Wells. Rather than giving you involved directions it
would be better, if you are already coming to Builth Wells,to
ask any shopkeeper in the town for directions, if you have a
name of a farm it would greatly help. My own grandfather
lived for many years in the parish of Maesmynis.
