G'day Kate,
I was wondering if there was a Dalgleish family on your index. William
Dalgleish wife Helen and ch'n including James 5 or 6 years & Archibald 1.
They settled in Catherine after leaving Scotland. Just trying to establish
their movements.
Many thanks,
Helen in Australia

Subject: Crickhowell 1861 folios
Hello all!
I recently purchased the Surname Index for the Enumeration District of
Crickhowell in the 1861 Census of Breconshire (Piece No. RG9:4222), from
the
Powys FHS.
Unfortunately, it's been of no use to me yet, as of the 60 or so look-ups
I've done so far, everyone seems to be on one of the missing folios. Does
anyone know where I could find the index, or better yet, a transcription
"as
enumerated", preferably online? Or perhaps a list of the
parishes with
their reference and folio numbers?
I don't drive, I visit town less than monthly, the nearest library is 30km
away, and I don't even know yet if that library (Carmarthen) would have
the
Breconshire Censuses or Parish Registers available.
The parishes I'm most interested in are Llanddetty, Llangynider,
Llangattock, & Llanelly.
For those who may be interested, the folios that are included in the
booklet
are:
Folios 01-36 Crickhowell Town
Folio 46 Llangenny Village
Folios 46-49 Glangrwney
Folios 50-51 Penrhiw
Folios 51-55 Llangenny (Parish)
Folios 62-67 Llanbedr Parish
Folios 74-75 Partrishow
Folios 82-84 Grynwyfechan & Grwyneyfawr
