Hi All,
Some subscribers are finding that their postings to Rootsweb lists are
being sent back to them by anti-spam software for "confirmation".
Vetomail is one such software package.
Anti-spam software of this type is fine when dealing with regular contacts,
but it can be a nuisance when dealing with mailing lists. And the person
using it doesn't necessarily get to see the bounces and problems because
they are masked by the anti-spam software itself.
Plus of course they don't get to see the list message, particularly if it
was intended for them...
Not everyone is comfortable (or wants to spend them time) logging into the
designated website to confirm their email address, but it can be a real
problem if they post often.
Could I ask users of this and similar anti spam software to check the
settings to determine whether it has facilities to recognise mailing list
messages, and if so to make sure that Rootsweb mail is included on the
"accept" list.
Thanks,
Malcolm
