Hi Fred,
I am researching Morgans too.
James Morgan, solicitor, married Mary Giles in Faversham, Kent in 1740. It
is believed that James was brought to Kent from Wales by an uncle, Walter
Jones also a solicitor and Mayor of Faversham.
In 1915 Charles Morgan, an earlier family historian, claimed that our James
Morgan descended from a William Morgan of Penderin. There are several
pieces of evidence apparently linking our Kentish Morgans to the Brecon
area including a coat of arms and a Morgan pedigree set out in "The History
of Brecknockshire" c 1805.
If this rings any bells with you or other listers I would be interested to
hear from you.
Regards, Brian
